If you are a pet owner, you’d probably have taken a ton of photos of your pet. Which brings us to this question “Why should I engage a pet photographer?”. Here are some reasons why you should engage a professional.
- Dog’s puppy stage is very short. Owners should take as many photos as possible during this stage, before you know it, they have already turn into an adult.
- A reliable professional photographer will give you good photo compositions as well as good image quality. Photos taken by a professional will definitely be better than those taken with a mobile phone.
- A pet will have a shorter lifespan as compared to a human. Owner’s would want something to remember when the pet crosses over to the rainbow bridge.
- Owners can be in the photo together with the pet.
- Photography is not simply pressing a button, it takes skills and training to be a good photographer. A good photographer will take years of practice and training before they can take good photos.
Pet photography is never easy. Often we see cute photos of pets but we don’t see what happens during the shoot. A nice photo may sometimes take a long time to coax/ trick/ bribe the pet into staying where you want them to stay. Some pets are easily bribed while some pets live in their own world and couldn’t be bothered with whats happening around them.
The above is a photo of a 3 months old Husky. He look so cute and this is one of my favorite photo but it was also the most difficult. It took us 2 hours and only yielded 5 photos. We had to do a lot of coaxing, even treats is not attractive enough to make him come near us. By the time we got this shot, we were all wet from perspiration. Having said that, not all sessions are tough, there are times when we meet very obedient dogs which will not move unless you tell them to. Nonetheless, pet photography is always fun for me, when I shoot dogs, it always make me feel so happy.
